International prizes
01 Jan. 2025
Throughout the year, the CPGA supports contemporary creation and increases the distribution, visibility and influence of the French art scene internationally. This is reflected in the organisation of three prizes that reward a contemporary artist from the French art scene and the gallery that exhibits him or her at ARCO Madrid, Frieze London and Art Basel Miami.
SPAIN – Emerige-CPGA Prize at ARCO Madrid
The Emerige-CPGA Prize is a collaboration with the Emerige Endowment Fund launched in 2023. An endowment of €7,000 is awarded to the winning artist and his or her gallery.
The winners of the 2024 edition are Felipe Romera Beltran and the Hatch gallery.
Emerige
Dreaming, creating and building a more innovative, sustainable and generous city.
Emerige’s ambition is to build a better life. This guiding principle, which we have pursued with the utmost care and responsibility for over 30 years, underpins our day-to-day activities. As the leading developer in inner Paris and the fifth-largest in Greater Paris, we build each of our residential and commercial property developments on a shared commitment to excellence with our stakeholders, architects, craftsmen, investors, users, elected representatives, partners and artists, with whom we cultivate a relationship of trust and respect for our word.
UNITED KINGDOM – FLUXUS-CPGA Prize at Frieze London
The Fluxus-CPGA Prize is a partnership with Fluxus Art Projects and Frieze London that began in 2023. Winners receive an endowment of £15,000 thanks to the collaboration of CPGA, Fluxus Art Projects and Frieze.
The winners of the 2024 edition are Stéphanie Saadé and the Marfa’ gallery.
Fluxus Art Projects
A Franco-British public-private fund, Fluxus Art Projects has, over the past 14 years, become a formidable talent accelerator, a prescriptive mechanism and a marker of notoriety for artists. Fluxus Art Projects and its Magnetic programme are managed by the Institut français du Royaume-Uni and supported by the Institut français, the Department of Culture, the Department for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, Arts Council of Wales/Wales Arts International, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the British Council. Fluxus benefits from the invaluable and unfailing commitment of its patrons and friends. This year, in collaboration with Art Basel, Fluxus is organising a prize that is symmetrical to the FLUXUS-CPGA Prize, which will celebrate an artist from the British scene in France.
USA – CPGA-Etant donnés Prize at Art Basel Miami Beach
The CPGA-Etant donnés Prize is a partnership with the Villa Albertine and Art Basel Miami that began in 2022. Winners receive $15,000 thanks to the collaboration of the CPGA and the Villa Albertine.
The winners of the 2024 edition are Johanna Mirabel and her Galerie Nathalie Obadia.
Villa Albertine
The Villa Albertine strengthens ties between the United States, France and the French-speaking community by connecting individuals and institutions in the fields of culture and education. In the arts, we foster collaboration between French and American organizations and provide artists and thought leaders with residencies, fellowships, and access to audiences to explore and share their perspectives on contemporary issues. In the field of education, we develop projects and programmes aimed at making the French language accessible to the entire American public. We support partnerships between French and American institutions of higher education and research, while promoting internships in France for students. Operating in 10 major U.S. cities, Villa Albertine is housed in the famous Payne Whitney Mansion in New York City, which is home to Albertine, our bookstore and the hub of Franco-American intellectual exchange.
