Paris Surréaliste : Gallery program to coincide with centenary exhibition
4 Sep. 2024 — 13 Jan. 2025
The Comité des Galeries d’Art, the Centre Pompidou and the Association Atelier André Breton are pleased to announce the Paris Surréaliste event, the fruit of their collaboration !
1924 saw the publication of André Breton’s Manifesto of Surrealism, the initiator of a seminal movement of the last century. One hundred years later, the Centre Pompidou is commemorating this event with the Surrealism exhibition, which runs from September 4, 2024 to January 13, 2025.
To mark the occasion, the Comité des Galeries d’Art, the Centre Pompidou and the Association Atelier André Breton are offering a Surrealist Paris:
38 galleries of the Comité propose 50 unique exhibitions to celebrate the Centenary of Surrealism and spotlight the artists of this historic movement.
Visitors will be invited to rediscover the works of artists such as Hans Bellmer, Man Ray, Salvador Dali and many others, as well as iconic Parisian Surrealist venues such as the Hôtel de Bérulle and Studio 28. A dozen of Parisian bookshops will also be taking part in the project.
