Philippe Charpentier, new chairman of the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art
07 Apr. 2025
On Monday April 7, 2025, the Ordinary General Meeting of the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art elected gallery owner Philippe Charpentier as its new president, with 90.5% of the votes cast.
Philippe Charpentier succeeds Marion Papillon, who was elected president in 2019 and re-elected in 2022.
“I have been a member of CPGA’s governing bodies since 2017, where I successively held the positions of treasurer and then vice-president.
This long-term experience in the service of our profession’s union has enabled me, in particular, to grasp its main issues and challenges, and my desire to continue these long-term commitments motivated my decision to stand for the Committee’s leadership.
Above all, I felt it was essential to overhaul the Committee’s governance by giving it a much more collegial dimension, which is why I have created the position of Deputy Chairman. This is the ambition of my candidacy alongside a largely renewed team.”
Co-founder, alongside Alex Mor, of the mor charpentier gallery opened in autumn 2010, Philippe Charpentier is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and HEC. He was CPGA Treasurer from 2017 to 2023, then Vice-Chairman from 2023.
