Galerie 1900-2000
Founded in 1972 on the advice of Man Ray by Marcel Fleiss, Fred Fisher and Philippe Klein, the Galerie des Quatre Mouvements presents Dada, Surrealist, Pop and Hyperrealist works. Two years later, it participated in its first Basel fair.
In 1981, Marcel Fleiss launched the Galerie 1900-2000, which succeeded the Quatre Mouvements by broadening the artistic field to include other avant-garde artists (Lettrism, Fluxus, etc.) and a few contemporaries (Pol Bury, George Condo, Jean-Michel Basquiat and the last exhibition of Keith Haring before his death).
In 1991, Marcel Fleiss is joined by his son David who develops the links with contemporary artists to realize exhibitions. He also developed the photographic department.
With more than 40 years of experience in the rediscovery of modern and contemporary artists, more than two hundred national and international exhibitions both in the gallery and in fairs, the Galerie 1900-2000 has become a reference in Paris and throughout the world.
