Galerie Christian Berst
Since 2005, the Christian Berst Gallery, the only gallery exclusively devoted to Art Brut in Paris and New York, has been putting its passion at the service of these creators off the beaten track, whether they are “classics” already consecrated by museums and collections or contemporary discoveries promised to be recognized by the art world.
The gallery, located not far from the Centre Pompidou, distinguishes itself as much by its exhibitions, its participation in international fairs as by its numerous publications and the organization of conferences, screenings and other cultural events which tend to make penetrate a public always wider in the arcane of the art brut. Several artists represented by the gallery have recently joined prestigious public collections: Centre Pompidou, MOMA, Tate Modern, Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris and several of them were also in the selection of the 2013 Venice Biennale.
In 2014, the gallery opened a new space in New York, on the lower east side, under the direction of Phillip March Jones.
