Galerie Claire Gastaud
The Claire Gastaud Gallery was founded in 1986. It is run by Claire Gastaud since 1996. She is assisted by the art historian Caroline Perrin. The gallery stands out from the crowd because of it location in Auvergne in the central France. This historical showroom is fill in by the opening of a project room in Paris.
The Claire Gastaud Gallery built a strong name while remaining faithful to its editorial line : presenting a selection of great names in contemporary art while actively supporting young emerging artists. Initiator of major project, the gallery goes also with each of its artists over time. The specificity of the Claire Gastaud gallery lies both in its great coherence linked to its high standards, and, paradoxically, in its eclecticism. Rather than specialize in a specific artistic trend, Claire Gastaud wanted the gallery to remain in resonance with today’s world and to be interested in all forms of writing, all subjects and all modes of expression.
Among the most emblematic exhibitions : we can mention, in the 80s and 90s, Dennis Oppenheim, Jacques de la Villeglé, Riopelle, Chu Teh Chun, Claude Viallat, Robert Combas, Rémi Blanchard, Philippe Favier, Erro; from the 2000s to today, Georges Rousse, NilsUdo, Samuel Rousseau, Henri Cueco, Bertrand Gadenne, Antoine+Manuel, Roland Cognet, Anne Sophie Emard, Henni Alftan, Alain Josseau, Jean Charles Eustache.
