Galerie d’Art MAGGIORE GAM
Maggiore g.a.m. art gallery was founded in 1978 by Franco and Roberta Calarota who have established their prestige on the international scene through a collection of high-quality works by 20th Century Masters and especially by Italian artists such as Giorgio Morandi and Giorgio de Chirico. Their daughter Alessia Calarota has joined Maggiore g.a.m. in 2011 linking to tradition with an innovative approach: the aim of the exhibitions proposed in the venues of the gallery – in Bologna, Paris, Venice – is not only to show how Modern Art has influenced Contemporary Art through dialogues between different artists, but also to investigate the influence of art on other fields with a series of interdisciplinary shows such as «Gio Ponti the Italian house: Giorgio Morandi, Massimo Campigli, Fausto Melotti».
Maggiore g.a.m. has always dealt with two fundamental aspects of the art world: the market and Institutional promotion. This way Maggiore g.a.m. has developed collaborative relationships with Museums and Institutions worldwide, among them: Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville – Paris, Metropolitan Museum – New York, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía – Madrid, Museum of Palazzo Fortuny – Venice and many others. Meanwhile, on the market side, Maggiore g.a.m. is taking part in a selection of major art fairs.
Since 2019 Franco and Roberta Calarota have opened an Institutional reality in Venice: ACP – Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota where outstanding Institutional shows are held, as stated by the press.
