Galerie Gagosian
Gagosian Gallery was founded in 1979 in Los Angeles by Larry Gagosian. It is considered one of the most influential of the most influential galleries in the world of modern and contemporary art. With the spaces in Paris and Le Bourget, there are a total of 14 gallery spaces in the world.
Larry Gagosian graduated from UCLA in 1969 with a BA in English. In 1980, he opened a gallery a gallery in Los Angeles, specializing in modern and contemporary art. Five years later, he expanded his activities to New York City, where he opened a gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood with an exhibition featuring major Pop Art works from the collection of Emily and Burton Tremaine. Until 1996, he also owned a gallery with Leo Castelli at 65 Thompson Street.
Firmly rooted in the dynamics of the contemporary economy, Gagosian Gallery has evolved into a truly international network, with fourteen separate exhibition venues in eight different cities.
