Galerie Sultana
After four years on rue Saint-Claude, in the Marais, and at a time when its international recognition is growing, in particular thanks to its participation in fairs such as Frieze New York, Frieze London, ARCO Madrid or Artissima in Turin, the Sultana gallery is moving to Belleville.
This change of location responds to a desire on the part of both the gallery and the artists it defends to be part of an artistically dynamic neighborhood, in which young, up-and-coming artists are based and where many critics, artists and curators reside; a neighborhood which, thanks to the quality and freshness of the proposals made by its actors, has succeeded in making itself widely known abroad.
This new space will be the place to reinforce what has been the spirit of the gallery since it opened: a desire to give a voice to artists through real projects and curatorial approaches rather than just the display of works.
Keeping the prospective and experimental spirit that the gallery has always wanted to have and defend will be translated into a willingness to amplify collaborations with innovative and dynamic foreign galleries, as was already the case with Instituto de vision in Bogota or Proyectos Ultravioleta in Guatemala City.
