Galerie Véronique Smagghe
Opened in 1990 in the Marais district of Paris, the gallery focuses on the work of French-based artists from the 1960s to the present day, with a particular emphasis on abstract art.
Located in a district – today – dotted with galleries of international recognition whose exhibitions of world-renowned and appreciated artists can sometimes be perceived as real events, the Véronique Smagghe gallery retains the very essence of the gallery’s profession, which consists in inviting the visitor to get to know, appreciate and adopt the work shown there.
Only the criterion of the eye prevails over the selection. Véronique Smagghe makes her gallery a place of proximity, discovery and reflection for each person who crosses the threshold. Similarly, each visitor can access her rich library and consult its precious works.
Véronique Smagghe considers art to be a “timeless supplement to the soul, allowing us to rise and move forward in a quest for the immaterial”. She is a true enthusiast who has remained faithful to her tastes, her artists and her commitments for thirty years.
