MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique
MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique is Massimo De Carlo’s sixth space, opened on February 9, 2021 at 57 rue de Turenne, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma in collaboration with PiM Architectes.studio.
MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique offers a flexible, dynamic and original program, exhibiting one work at a time, visible day and night through its window.
MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique was born from Lucio Amelio’s Pièce Unique project, a space as minimalist as it was disruptive: a room dedicated to the presentation of a single work, opened in 1989 with the help of Cy Twombly. Endorsed by the Pièce Unique concept, MASSIMODECARLO Pièce Unique today propels Lucio Amelio’s project into the 21st century, giving it a new perspective, proposing an alternative exhibition model in the contemporary art system.
