The gallery, historically linked to the Surrealist movement, presents an exhibition in three successive phases. From 6 September to 19 October, it will be possible to admire, contextualised and documented, two major works of Surrealism: Le Grand transparent by Jacques Hérold (1910-1987) and the costume for the execution of the will of the Marquis de Sade, a performance from 1959 by Jean Benoît (1922-2010).

The following two exhibitions will show the enduring influence of Surrealism on other artistic movements, for example, in the international Phases movement by Édouard Jaguer (1924-2006), or Jacques Carelman's pataphysics (1929-2012).

Finally, a third exhibition will feature the Anthropomorphic Machines by Fabian Sanchez (1934-2020). It will pay tribute to the influence of Lautréamont on the Surrealists, and the poet's famous line:
‘Beautiful as the chance encounter on a dissection table of a sewing machine and an umbrella.’

Galerie Françoise Livinec unveils the work of three artists who have played an important role in the history of Surrealism, either through their connection with Breton (Alexander Calder [1898-1976], Yves Elléouët [1932-1975]), or through their participation in international surrealism (Jacqueline Lamba [1910-1993]), and whose place within the movement has yet to be (re)discovered.
