To mark the centenary of the publication
of the Surrealist Manifesto, the
galerie Jocelyn Wolff has chosen
to explore the literary side
literary side of the movement
alongside works of modern surrealism
modern (Émile Savitry [1903-1967])
and contemporary surrealism (Sarah Tritz [1980])
a ‘surrealist library’,
based on the library
of Simone Collinet (1897-1980),
first wife of André Breton
(1896-1966) and an active member
of the movement. This
library, comprising the movement's
publications of the movement, tracts
magazines, and surrealist
Surrealists, showing all the
facets of their aesthetic,
which sought by every means
to ‘transform the world’.
